Safety First: Securing Your Home and Business

Whether you own a business or home, keeping it safe is critical. But sometimes even the most vigilant safety measures aren't enough to keep out intruders. I own a small food store in my neighborhood. I didn't use a security system or camera to monitor my store. Instead, I relied on my employees and other businesses to keep an eye out for crime. But one night after closing time, someone broke into my store and stole money and many other items. Because I didn't have a security camera or alarm in place, the police couldn't take immediate action to apprehend the thief. I learned a valuable lesson that night. I took action and had a security system installed on the premises. It was the best decision I ever made. My blog offers tips on how to keep your company or home safe. Remember, safety should always be first.

Protect Your Tools In Your Truck Bed Or Trailer: What To Know

Blog

If you have a business where you haul tools around in the back of a truck or a trailer, than you need to make sure you are protecting the items that you have in your truck the best that you can. There are a lot of different things that you can do to help keep the tools and other items safe without having to take everything out of the vehicle at night. You also don't have to park the truck in a garage if you don't have one. Here are some of the items you can get.

Cable Seals

If you're worried people are going to try to steal things from your work truck, attach tools and other items through cables, and then use cable seals to make sure that no one takes the items. Someone would have to be able to cut through the cables, because the cable seals are too difficult to break off or damage.

Cover

It's best to get an enclosed cover for the back of the truck or the trailer. If you can't, you should at least get a roll tarp or something that can be pulled over the items when you plan to leave the truck or trailer for the night or even if you're just going into a restaurant. Removing anything that would be a distraction or draw attention is ideal.

Security Alarm System

You can get a security alarm system that will trigger if something moves the truck violently or if there is movement detected inside the bed of the truck. These systems are great because it would make a signal so people would pay attention to the truck or trailer, and it would be hard for the would-be thieves to not be seen with a large tool or item.

There are a lot of people that may target work trucks because they know the trucks are usually filled with valuable tools, which they can steel and then sell or use themselves. You want to prevent your truck from becoming a target, and you want to prevent the financial loss and stress that would come if someone were to steal a bunch of items out of your trailer or truck. Look into these different options to see what is the most affordable option for you to pick, what you can install on your own, and what to do next.
